Hollywood sure loves turning tech dramas into blockbusters. We’ve seen multiple adaptations of movies depicting Steve Jobs and Edward Snowden, and now it looks like Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes is next.
Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to take the leading role, reports Deadline. The Adam McKay-directed drama (‘The Big Short,’ ‘Anchorman,’ ‘Ant-Man’) follows the story of the blood-testing company which claims to have revolutionized the process by using just a finger-stick style of testing rather than drawing an entire tube.

Over the past few years, the company has suffered claims of false advertising, misleading public officials, and providing inaccurate test results. Last fall, a Food and Drug Administration inspection found Theranos at fault of using ‘uncleared’ medical devices.
Last week, Forbes revised Holmes’ net worth from $4.5 billion to zero.
The rise and fall of Theranos should make for an interesting drama for those who enjoy industry dramas, and we’re curious to see how Lawrence will depict the woman Inc. Magazine once called “the next Steve Jobs.”
