If you’re the kind of person who loves to mix geekery with crafting, then you’ll definitely get a kick out of a website that combines both beautifully.

64 Stitches is an application that uses a basic code framework to crate a textile pattern within 64 stitches. The code uses “*” and “_” to denote when lines depict the base color and contrast color, respectively. You can also decide what base cast on number to use, which will dramatically change the look of the pattern.

New York, meet the world’s tech scene

5,000 Tech leaders are coming to NYC this November to learn and do business. This is your chance to join them.

The loop is defined by the remaining stitches, so the pattern won’t work if the math doesn’t come out properly. From there, the number for “Cast On” (CO) affects width, so changing that number can alter the shape of the textile pattern.

Of course, if you’d rather, you can manually input stitches and have it loop until it ends.

Once you’re done, you can save the swatch or share your pattern via Twitter.

Happy pattern-making!
